This pinball machine is in good, fully working, fully shopped condition. See my standard text below to see what “fully Shopped” means to me. The game really plays VERY well and looks amazing. The flippers are nice and strong. After installing a new Lamp Driver Board, I changed all bulbs to LEDs. And not cheap chinese LEDs – I get only the best from Cointaker. I have tediously gone over every computer board in this game and resoldered all connectors, cleaned all the female connectors. The power supply has been gone over carefully and is in perfect working condition. Every single light bulb, switch, coil, display segment, etc is working correctly. I also spent most of a day replacing the majority of the lamp sockets under the playfield because they were frankly just worn out and flaky. This is a somewhat typical problem on Ballys from the 1970s. So there may still be some minor flakiness in the lamps, it is minimal. New sockets basically fix the problem. Plus the new Altek LDB board and new LEDs help. There are a few little burns in some of the displays, which is totally common and to be expected in these 40 year old Ballys. Still fully working and not bad or hard to read or anything. Just a sign of originality and age. You can replace the displays with new LED replacements if you want. I don’t like them because I appreciate the originality of these antique neon displays. Eight Ball is really a well designed game that is quite fun to play. Proof of this is that it is the SECOND MOST produced pinball machine in history, behind Addams Family. It was a real hit and continues to be. Here is a short movie I took just showing that it’s fully working. Let me know if you want more pictures – I can send you a link. They won’t let me put the link in the listing for some reason. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. Good condition, but probably about average cosmetic condition. Eight Balls got a LOT of play, and it’s pretty hard to find one that doesn’t have a lot of paint worn on the playfield and cabinet. The plastics, however, are just about perfect. I bought new bumper caps for it. Backglass is almost perfect. The coin door is in good condition and is fully working with coin mechs and a new lock. The cabinet looks pretty interesting. I touched up the black and orange paint, but left the wear on the white because I personally think it adds a really cool vintage patina to the game. If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know – I’m happy to answer. COIN DOOR: 7.5/10. STANDARD GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SOLID STATE PINBALL SHOPPING.
