ROBOCOP Pinball Machine by Data East
This is a ROBOCOP pinball machine made by Data East in 1989. Fun and relatively simple pinball game with characters, voices and sounds in digital stereo! From the popular movie. A unique feature of this game is the bridge ramp, where you must have an accurate shot on the ramp to give it enough speed to “jump” to the other side and, hopefully, lock a ball towards achieving multi-ball. It also features a kickback and plenty of targets. Unlike the movie this game is tame enough to be played by just about anyone. If you are a fan of the movie (or similar 80s action movies) you’ll love the 80s “classic cheese” of this game. This particular game is in relatively good condition for its age. You won’t find many of them, but this one looks as good or better than most that I have seen. It has some wear on the cabinet and playfield, but nothing too detracting. The game has been fully tested, adjusted as necessary and plays great. Condition is often best conveyed with pictures, so please look over the pictures and let me know if you would like more of a particular area or have any questions. For my detailed take on the condition, read below. CABINET: The cabinet has general wear and tear likes nicks and scratches, and it has some scrapes on the backbox art. Some of the wear in the black areas has been touched up a little. The cabinet has typical raised woodgrain or slight wood “planking” from this era, especially at the front of the cabinet. The coin door is just OK, maybe slightly bent. The siderails and lockdown bar are updated to a newer style and look nice. The legs are in good shape. The backglass looks great with very little noticeable wear. The display is new, so no issues there. PLAYFIELD: The playfield has mylar (thin plastic) in the main areas like almost all games of this era and looks decent overall. There is some wear here and there, mostly covered by insert overlays or slight touchups. It looks presentable but please look at the various pictures closely to make sure you can see the overall condition. It looks like all of the plastics were replaced recently, and the ramp was repaired but looks pretty nice and fully functional (usually not the case). The ED-209 figure was replaced with a newer model. The rubbers were recently replaced and look clean. Most of the playfield bulbs have been converted to LEDs, giving it a brighter, cooler, more fitting look for this title. The flippers have been adjusted and have plenty of power to make all shots. New balls were just installed. ELECTRONICS: The boards are pretty clean and fully functional. No real hacks or issues. Batteries were just replaced. Prospective buyers, please keep in mind this is a used pinball machine. It looks and plays as described above, but parts may have become worn, lost or replaced over its lifetime. Also, pinball machines use solid steel balls that are flipped around wood, plastic, and metal. Little parts will break over time and require adjustment, no matter the type of use, whether the machine is new out of the box or 30 years old. I have the knowledge and experience and guts! I use Specialized Transportation Inc (STI) exclusively for this job. The machine is wrapped in blankets, shrink wrap and cardboard protectors, then moved with the head folded down and legs on until it reaches the destination terminal — usually 1 to 2 weeks. In the rare case of damage, simply describe the damage on the paperwork and I can help you with a claim. If you would like an exact cost, please send me your zip code and I will find out for you.
