1990 Funhouse Pinball Machine Williams Arcade Pat Lawlor
This masterpiece comes from Pat Lawlor, the same designer who brought you the Addams Family and Twilight Zone pinball machines. This is one of the most iconic pinball machines of all time for its unique and thrilling design and gameplay, just like many of Lawlor’s other machines. The game is themed after the concept of a funhouse, a walk-through amusement park featuring many attractions. It features a talking doll head, Rudy, which responds in real time to events in the game, including informing the player of special bonuses, taunting and heckling the player, and appearing to follow the ball with its eyes when certain targets are hit. It also features a virtual clock in the center of the playfield, which advances the current time by increments of five minutes with each successful shot. This game was the first of its time to feature such technology, contributing to its iconicity. The idea is that the player is taking on the role of a visitor to see its attractions. The overall goal of the game is to advance the game time to midnight and cause the FunHouse to close, allowing the player to start multiball mode. A secondary goal of the game is to complete the Mystery Mirror by lighting all of its modes, starting Super Frenzy mode. The game is over when the player has lost all balls, including any extra balls earned. Overall, this machine is in great condition. Unlike many Funhouse machines today, the cabinets color is still bright and contains no fading. There are some nicks and scratches here and there, which must be expected from a machine built over 25 years ago. All LEDs and rubbers are functional. Please look at all pictures as proof of condition. The machine still works and plays great. The only flaw is the sound, The sound stopped working a few months ago, although it should be an easy, straightforward, fix.
