This is a fully working, fully shopped Comet pinball game. We have fully shopped it and replaced all of the rubber bands with new ones. We have also replaced all of the light bulbs with new Cointaker LEDs (the best you can get). Every single bulb, switch, coil, target, display segment, sound effect, etc is working great. The sound board is fully working. The PCBS in this game have had the connector headers reflowed with fresh solder to ensure good connections. (general illumination) connectors on the power supply board have actually been replaced with new ones because Williams games from this era always have the GI connectors burned up from too much current going through them. We also installed a new battery holder off the main MPU board to prevent any future problem with leaking acid damage. Also, we have rebuilt the flippers with new parts, so they flip like new, good and strong. NOTE: The displays all work perfectly and have no burns or flaws of any kind. The pictures unfortunately make it look like the displays are not working, because this darn iPhone doesn’t allow my to adjust the shutter speed. It is such a fast shutter speed that it catches the displays while drawing the digits and makes them look broken. Trust me, to the human eye, they look and function perfectly. If anyone knows how to adjust the shutter speed on an iPhone 12 please message me. The game has a new ball and locks. The quarter coin mechs work so you can use it as a piggy bank if you wish. Here is a video I took showing that the game is fully working. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. This cosmetic condition of this Comet is very good overall, with the exception of the playfield artwork. I have rarely seen a pinball with a playfield this worn. Which is good and bad. The bad is obvious – there is quite a bit of paint worn off the playfield so some artwork is missing. The good is not as obvious. It is a sign of several things – 1 The game is very fun. Lots of people wanted to play it over and over again. 2 The game must have been in operation a long time. This means it is a dependable game that keeps on working. Other aspects of the game: The cabinet is good and solid, no water damage. The artwork is in great shape and crisp and unfaded. I also have to mention that I put NEW legs and leg bolts on this game, and that really makes a difference. The plastics are in very good condition, even the ramps are nice and solid with no big cracks or breaks in them. The game has new locks installed and has working coin mechs for taking quarters in case you want to use it as a piggy bank. The backglass is very nice and looks very nice, but not perfect. I think there are a couple of spots where the paint is flaked or lifted. But overall very very good. It’s one of those awesome mirrored glasses that really make pinball look like a work of art. The cabinet is in outstanding, solid condition with no water damage. The artwork on the cabinet is just about perfect. A few little flaws along the outer edge, but otherwise just about perfect. And it is such gorgeous artwork, with NO fading whatsoever. The coin door is in excellent condition and has working coin mechs. If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know – I’m happy to answer. STANDARD GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SOLID STATE PINBALL SHOPPING.
