Williams FIREPOWER 2 Pinball Machine in Excellent Working Condition II

1983 Williams FIREPOWER II Pinball Machine. This is a solid state pinball machine that allows up to 4 players. It features 2 flippers, 4 pop bumpers, 2 slingshots, 10 standup targets, 1 kick-out hole, 1 spinning target, 1 ramp, 2 ball Multiball, and Lane Change. This Firepower II has gone through extensive electrical reconditioning, in order to ensure that it is fully functionally and remains reliable for years. I have 25 years of experience repairing this era of Williams pinball machines. Here is an outline of what was performed. 1 The 40 pin male interconnector that connects the MPU to the driver board was replaced. 2 The 3 AA batteries were moved off of the MPU to prevent battery alkaline damage. 3 The power supply was rebuilt and upgraded, including new capacitors, Zener diodes, and connectors. 4 Zero ohm resistors were installed to the switch matrix of the driver board. 5 The lamp matrix transistors on the driver board were replaced with MOSFETS. 6 An LED light on the driver board was added to show that the “blanking circuit” is functioning correctly. 7 Fuses were installed to protect the machine should the bridge rectifiers fail. This was a design flaw that Williams corrected in later games. 8 All lamp sockets checked for functionality (replaced if necessary). 9 All burnt out light bulbs replaced. 10 All switches checked for functionality and adjusted if necessary. 11 The playfield was cleaned and waxed. 12 New rubber kit installed. 13 New pinballs installed. 14 New lock installed on the front coin door. All of this work adds up to a machine that is fully working and rebuilt to stay that way. The playfield shows some moderate wear. The backglass was flaking so a previous owner sprayed the backglass with black paint to prevent further damage. The cabinet is structurally sound with minor scratches and dings.
