This was originally a Chrismas Present for me in that Christmas of 1977. Move your mouse cursor over my photos for a Larger View. Measures about 3′ 8 long. The back display is 22 1/4″ high x 26″ wide x 11 deep. It will need a few minor repairs. When I decided to sell it I fired it back up and 2 of the rubber rings broke from age. 2 other issues are the solenoid for the ball plunger would need to be replaced it does not recoil all of the time so the ball will not be able to drop into its hole to be put back into play. As a kid I removed the plexiglass to push the solenoid back before putting the ball in play and played without the plexiglass. The other issue is the 800 bonus button. When it is run over with the ball at the top of the playing field it sould have a higher pitched ring tone for scoring. The solenoid for that is also in need of repair or replacement. When the lower button near the middle of the playing field is run over by the ball the scoring goes back to normal points and the lower pitched ring tone sounds as targets are hit. 3 balls per game. Some rusting on the chrome. It still fuctions and plays fine. Watch the video Below. Video will open in a new window. Using the mobile app? Very Clean Pinball Machine for its age. Rare Vintage Williams SMARTY Pinball Machine 1968. SMARTY 1968 classic pinball machine made by Williams in excellent playing condition. SMARTY is a two-flipper electromagnetic game, with the classic smaller style flippers. The object of the game is to hit various targets and rollovers to light up letters in a grid on the playfield. The grid is a 4×4 matrix of letters, spelled out in four letter words (NOT the kind of 4-letter words you yell when the ball drains). As you complete each word, certain bonuses are activated which either give you more points, or scores an extra ball. This pinball machine adds balls. It was built in an era where pinball machines were considered gambling devices in some jurisdictions. There is a version of this game which does score freeplays. Its called Ding Dong, and it’s completely identical to Smarty, except for the name. This is the more desirable version. The gameplay is pure fun for all ages with a nostalgic feel. The backglass is colorful and whimsical not a lot of flaking. The playfields colors are surprisingly vivid for a 50+ year old machine. Very little wear on the sides for 50+ year machine. Back needs to be stabilized but in excellent working condition. Please check my other items as I’m just starting to sell bits and pieces of my collection. This pinball machine is in excellent, fully working, fully shopped condition. See my standard text below to see what “fully Shopped” means to me. The game really plays VERY well and looks amazing. After installing a new Lamp Driver Board, I changed all bulbs to LEDs. And not cheap chinese LEDs – I get only the best from Cointaker. I also replaced the MPU with a new ALLTEK to improve reliability and longevity on this rare game. I have tediously gone over every computer board in this game and resoldered all connectors, cleaned all the female connectors. I’ve replaced some connectors that were in need of replacing. The power supply has been gone over carefully and is in perfect working condition. Every single light bulb, switch, coil, display segment, etc is working correctly. There are a few little burns in some of the displays, which is totally common and to be expected in these 40 year old Ballys. Still fully working and not bad or hard to read or anything. Just a sign of originality and age. You can replace the displays with new LED replacements if you want. I don’t like them because I appreciate the originality of these antique neon displays. This is a really fun game with super striking artwork. How can you not be intrigued to see the city of Chicago being nuked on the backglass, and skeletons sipping from glasses of blood? Not the way I would decorate my home personally, but it is quite a work of art nonetheless. I probably don’t need to tell you this, but this is also a very rare pinball machine. From what I’ve been told, it is the rarest production Bally pinball ever made. That is why I have it priced the way it is priced. Let me know if you want more pictures – I can send you a link. They won’t let me put the link in the listing for some reason. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. Not mint, but definitely above average. The playfield has some wear. I’ve owned this game for about 25 years and 98% of that time it was in my parents’ basement getting almost no play. Then I moved it into my pinball museum, where it got about the same amount of play for about a year. But it must have gotten some play before I got it because you can see some wear on the playfield. The plastics, however, are basically perfect. Backglass is almost perfect. The only flaw anywhere on the backglass is a tiny spot in the very top left corner where the glass locking mechanism rubs the inside of the glass and scraped the paint there. Otherwise it’s perfect. The coin door is in great condition and is fully working with coin mechs and a new lock. The cabinet looks really great. It was touched up and would be perfect, except that when the purple paint dried, it turned out to be a different color than when it was wet. It was perfect when we first started touching it up. But that could be remedied by you. If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know – I’m happy to answer. STANDARD GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SOLID STATE PINBALL SHOPPING. 1967 Williams Beat Time Pinball. Fully functioning Williams Beat Time pinball machine. Manufactured in 1967, this pinball machine featured the Bootles. This one is in great working condition and it has the upgraded BEATLES backglass. It also comes with the original Bootles backglass (as seen in last photo). It allows one or two players. There are two 2 Flippers, five Pop bumpers, two Slingshots, one Rotating targets with four targets (neat feature), two Standup targets, Left and right dual outlanes. Williams Beat Time took advantage of the musical group The Beatles, and used this unlicensed pinball, changing the name of the group to The Bootles. But clearly from the art they are representing The Beatles. This one comes with the reissue backglass of this game available featuring “The Beatles” characters on the glass instead of The Bootles. Designed by Steve Kordek and art by Jerry Kelley, they made 2,802 of the Williams Beat Time machines in 1967. However, very few remain and most are not leaving the collectors who have them. Here’s a chance to get a nice example of one of these rare, working machines for your man cave or Beatles collection. Note: Coin slot has been modified to bypass need for coins. Just push button and play. However, parts are still there to change it back. Also, missing backboard which covers rear of display. I will assist with transport in any way I can.
