1979 Williams Tri Zone Pinball Machine in Nice Shape, Everything Works 100% COOL
This game was released by Williams in July of 1979. It has 2 flippers, 3 pop bumpers, 2 slingshots, 4 drop targets a kick out hole, a spinning target and many rollover switches. The drop targets have a cool feature where more points are awarded if you hit the target while it’s light is blinking. The drop target lights blink for about 5 seconds each and cycle through the 4 different target lamps on at a time. As you roll over the A & B lanes your bonus multiplier increases and you increase your score by completing the T -R -I rollovers or completing the 4 drop targets and spelling Z – O -N -E. Completing those letters multiple times really increases your score and lights various features like the special and extra ball. Although this is an early electronic pinball machine, it still has a lot to do to keep you engaged. His machine is in good shape especially considering it is 39 years old. I have owned this for a while now and have gone through this machine, taking most everything apart, cleaning and reassembling. Any parts that were missing or broken were replaced. Bulbs were replaced and the playfield was polished. The playfield looks good but it is original and does have some defects. Some of these machines get pretty badly worn, but this one is in good shape but it does have some. All rubber has been replaced and the plastics are in pretty good shape. The backglass had to be touched up quite a bit. It was sealed with a clear coat to prevent further paint loss and touched up. It still presents well. And still has that great 1970s look and feel. The cabinet has original artwork that has been touched up in some places and it presents well too. The legs are in decent shape. Everything is clean and ready to enjoy. The wiring is original and in good shape with no hacks, etc. Although there were no issues with the electronics, the machine has had some service to avoid future problems. The CPU board has had a remote battery holder mounted to avoid any future battery damage. The CPU itself does not show any signs of prior battery damage and the battery holder on the board looks clean. The 40 pin interconnect between the CPU & Driver Boards were replaced both male and female. The driver board has ceramic cement resistors in place for the general illumination circuits so everything is ready for years of use. Everything works like it should. The flippers work great. It has a new pinball and even has working coin mechs in place but is currently set on Free Play. It has the ¾ roll tilt ball and plumb bob tilt mechanisms in place along with the knocker and a coin box as well as a copy of the manual and instructions. Everything works 100% and the machine plays great! I really like it because with a little practice you can complete all of the various features. It is not as complicated as some of the newer machines but really is fun to play. Everything is working as it should and everything has been serviced properly. No chewing gum or rubber bands holding anything together. I have several other machines and believe me I have seen some atrocious repairs and have seen a lot of sellers passing them off as great machines that in reality need a lot of work. Anyone who already owns a pinball machine knows that you will always have a bulb or something that needs to be addressed on a regular basis but this machine is ready to go and needs nothing as is. Here is a link to a video of the machine demonstrating the features, etc. This has been in my personal collection so I restored and serviced it accordingly. This is a hobby and a passion of mine. I do however, take a great deal of pride in getting the machines I own back to a good working and physical condition. It is almost 40 years old so it is far from perfect. It is not a museum piece but it is in good condition. Feel free to make an offer, worst thing that can happen is I don’t accept.
