This is a fully working, fully shopped Showtime pinball game. We have fully shopped it and replaced all of the rubber bands with new ones. We have also replaced all of the light bulbs with new LEDs. We used a very tasteful choice of warm light in most places, and cool light to light up the scores to keep an older, classic yet vibrant look. Every single bulb, switch, coil, target, bell, etc is working great. The game has new balls and original locks. It has quarter coin mechs but it has been modified (slightly) to be on “Free Play” so that you don’t need to drop coins or open the door and trigger switches in order to play in your home. If you want to use this in a coin operated setting, let me know after the sale and I will change it back and make sure the coin / credit system is set to function well for you. Here is a video I took showing that this pinball is fully working. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. This cosmetic condition of this Showtime pinball is excellent. It is not perfect, but quite good for something built almost 50 years ago. The playfield has only the tiniest spots of wear on it in a few spots. Otherwise the paint is all intact and still as vibrant as the day it rolled off the line. The plastics seem perfect to me – I couldn’t find any flaws. The cabinet has one spot on the back corner of the head where the wood chipped and was touched up (very minor and almost unnoticeable). Otherwise, the cabinet is solid and in great condition. The paint has been touched up and it just looks great. It has a little bit of a tan light stained look on the sides, but I bet that would scrub off to be pure white with some elbow grease. I like the slight patina myself so I didn’t work too hard on it. The backglass looks really great to the casual player’s glance. Gorgeous, vibrant artwork and very few flaws. Upon close inspection, you will see that there is a small section at the bottom where the paint is starting to lift/flake, as well as a few tiny spots where the paint has flaked in the upper section. But none of this stands out when not looking for flaws. If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know – I’m happy to answer. PLAYFIELD PLASTICS: 9.5/10. COIN DOOR: 8.5/10. STANDARD GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ELECTRO-MECHANICAL PINBALL SHOPPING. When we shop an electro-mechanical pinball, here is what that includes. 1 Removed most everything from the playfield. 2 Clean, wax, and polish entire playing surface. 3 Replace all above-playfield light bulbs with new LED bulbs. 4 Replace all below-playfield light bulbs with new LED matching colored bulbs. 5 Replace all rubbers with new ones. 6 Re-install all above playfield plastics and hardware after thorough cleaning. 7 Remove backglass, replace all bulbs with LEDs. 8 Carefully clean all score reels and make sure switches are properly cleaned and working. 9 Make sure all features of pinball are working properly. 10 Scrub, clean, and touch up cabinet to the best of our limited ability. 11 Install new lock on front door. 12 Install new ball(s). There are probably a few other things we do, but that’s the gist of it. This game is located in sunny, beautiful downtown McLean, IL 61754. We have over 140 playable games and luxurious arcade-themed lodging options. Contact me for more details or look for hotel Arcadia on airbnb. They will bring it right inside your house (ground floor only). This is for the 48 contiguous United States only. In some rare cases possibly longer. What I CAN guarantee is that if you pick the game up, or if not when the game leaves my hands, it will be exactly as described and photoed above. Nice, great playing, fully working, players’ condition widebody pinball. Everything on this game is working 100%. It has been fully shopped. All bulbs have been replaced with top quality LEDs. All displays are fully working. All coils and switches are fully working. Flippers are nice and strong. Drop targets have all been taken apart, cleaned, and work perfectly. Sound board has been rebuilt and sounds great. BTW, all the displays work perfectly. The shutter speed on my camera is so fast that it makes it look like some of the digits are not working. This is not true – in real life all the displays are working completely. HUGE wide playfield with lots to shoot for and great action. The game really plays very well and looks good. I changed all bulbs to LEDs. And not cheap chinese LEDs – I get only the best from Cointaker. I made a quick movie showing the game fully working. You can see it here. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. Cabinet solid, no signs of water damage anywhere, good paint although not perfect. The backglass has paint missing in places. The playfield is worn in places. Plastics are excellent – none broken or damaged. New ball and lock. The game does not currently have coin mechanisms – you have to open the coin door and trip the coin switch for credits. I can install mechs if you need them. If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know – I’m happy to answer. COIN DOOR: 8.5/10. STANDARD GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SOLID STATE PINBALL SHOPPING. This game works great. We have fully shopped it and replaced all of the rubber bands with new ones. We have also replaced all of the light bulbs with new Cointaker LEDs (the best you can get). Every single bulb, switch, coil, target, display segment, sound effect, voice, etc is working great. We replaced the MPU board with a new Alltek MPU. The lamp driver board is new. The sound board has been rebuilt and has new sound potentiometers. The main volume knob is a new potentiometer. The old fluorescent fixture that used to be in the head to light the glass has been replaced with a new LED one. Those tiny baby fluorescent fixtures and bulbs are so fragile that it’s rare to find one still working that doesn’t have the bulb holders cracked and broken. So this will last forever. All of the PCBS in this game have had the connector headers reflowed with fresh solder to ensure good connections. The game has a new ball and lock. The quarter coin mechs work so you can use it as a piggy bank if you wish. Also, although I’ve alluded to it above, I just want to reiterate that the squawk and talk sound board is working perfectly on this game. That is a weak point on this era bally, and this one is perfect with the new caps and sound pots – all the sounds work flawlessly without distortion. This game actually plays really well. The fact that it is so worn and has clearly seen so much use is actually a good sign if you’re looking for a good, reliable, nice-playing game. This one has clearly been a workhorse and after everything I have done to it, it should continue to be a workhorse for years to come. Here is a video I took showing that the game is fully working. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. The physical / cosmetic condition of this game is really it’s main weak point. The playfield is about as worn as a playfield can get. It appears that at some prior point in life, someone decided to repaint the playfield to replace all of the paint that had worn off the playfield art. They did a better job that I could have, but not as good as an artist could do. It looks pretty obvious that someone touched up the paint. But it is probably better than having all that bare wood showing. They also installed a good mylar protection layer after painting it so at least it is not going to wear further and their work is protected. Most of the playfield plastics are perfect, but there are several that have a corner broken off or some other flaw. The giant plastic that covers the in-line drop targets has an interesting situation. A big portion of that plastic was broken off, and I had another just like it that had a different section broken off. So I cut them both along a line and installed one on top of the other so now the entire plastic is complete with artwork, but there is a section where the two different plastics overlap. Now that is American ingenuity! All of the drop targets are present and fully working. But a few of them do not have the right artwork on them. I believe the 2x and 4x targets have the wrong art on them. To be honest, I thought about doing it and decided that with the rest of the game in the condition it’s in, new shiny white targets would stand out and make the rest look worse rather than making the game look better. The cabinet is in decent condition, but has a few flaws. First and foremost, the rear right bottom corner of the game must have gotten weak at some point in the past, because someone has glued / installed a 2 x 8 in the back corner of the cabinet to solidify whatever was happening. This was a very well executed repair and the game is perfectly solid and strong. But the bolts for that back right leg have to be 2 inches longer than the others to go through the added 2 x 8. Otherwise, the cabinet is pretty nice and solid and the artwork is mostly in great shape and intact. There has been a little touch up in some areas but it was very well done and looks just great. The coin door is in very nice condition and has working coin mechs in it. New LED bulbs to light the coin slots, and a new lock. Also includes an original Bally coin box. The backglass looks near perfect from the front. But if you look closely or remove it, you will notice that the paint is starting to separate and peel away along the bottom edge of the glass. It has not yet gotten bad to where you really notice from standing at the game. Hopefully it will not get any worse in the next 40 years than it did in its first 40 years. So in summary, this game is not going to win any awards at a pinball show for its condition. But it sure does play great and it sure is a great game. In my opinion (and many other peoples’ opinions) this is one of the best single-ball pinball machines every designed and built. The rules are just great. The shots are great. The design is great. The artwork is great. The sound effects and speech are great. It is a game that continues to be fun to play forever. I was addicted to this game in college, then after graduating. And even now I can’t resist playing it every time I get a chance. In fact, it is the one game my DAD wanted in his house, out of the thousands I have owned. So I gave him an 8 ball deluxe for Christmas one year and it remained in his basement for decades and he never wanted to swap it or get rid of it. If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know – I’m happy to answer. COIN DOOR: 7.5/10. STANDARD GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SOLID STATE PINBALL SHOPPING. This is a fully working, fully shopped Mr & Mrs Pac Man pinball game. We have fully shopped it and replaced all of the rubber bands with new ones. We have also replaced all of the light bulbs with new Cointaker LEDs (the best you can get). Every single bulb, switch, coil, target, display segment, sound effect, voice etc is working great. The lamp driver board is new. I rebuilt the Squawk and Talk sound board with all new capacitors and potentiometers and it is fully working. The PCBS in this game have had the connector headers reflowed with fresh solder to ensure good connections. One complete connector was replaced with a new one the main one on the driver board that often gets messed up. NOTE: The displays all work perfectly and have no burns or flaws of any kind. The pictures unfortunately make it look like the displays are not working, because this darn iPhone doesn’t allow my to adjust the shutter speed. It is such a fast shutter speed that it catches the displays while drawing the digits and makes them look broken. Trust me, to the human eye, they look and function perfectly. If anyone knows how to adjust the shutter speed on an iPhone 12 please message me. The game has a new ball and locks. The quarter coin mechs work so you can use it as a piggy bank if you wish. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. This cosmetic condition of this Mr. Pac Man is pretty good. It is definitely what you would call a “player’s condition” machine, meaning it is not a collector quality or museum piece, but good for someone who wants to actually play it. The backglass and the mini glass under it are both in perfect condition without any paint lifting or flaking at all. But very very good. That said, it has the best playfield I have ever seen on a Mr. Pac Man, and I’ve seen a lot of them. It is still worn a bit in places, but mostly in great shape! The plastics are all perfect except for the bumper caps which had to have their tops glued down and the targets which are original but show worn spots. Otherwise they are great! The cabinet is the roughest part of this game, because the paint is starting to flake on the left side. Still looks ok to me, but it is just a bit worn and rough on that side. The other side looks pretty good and is in decent condition. The top of the head might have been dripped on or something, because the wood has kind of expanded in a some spots like it got wet. But you can only even see that if you are taller than about 6′ 8, so probably not an issue. The coin door is in very good condition and has two working quarter mechs, which feed into an original Bally coin box. The game has new keyed alike locks install, as well as a new ball and new plug. The legs are original and in decent shape but do show some wear and tear. If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know – I’m happy to answer.
