GORGEOUS original 1981 Bally FATHOM pinball machine Shopped LED’ed-FREE SHIPPING

This is a fully working, fully shopped Fathom pinball game. We have fully shopped it and replaced all of the rubber bands with new ones. We have also replaced all of the light bulbs with new Cointaker LEDs (the best you can get). Every single bulb, switch, coil, target, display segment, sound effect, voice, etc is working great. The lamp driver board is new. The sound board (squawk and talk) is fully working with sound effects and speech (which can be a problem on this era Bally). All of the PCBS in this game have had the connector headers reflowed with fresh solder to ensure good connections. NOTE: The displays all work perfectly and have no burns or flaws of any kind. The pictures unfortunately make it look like the displays are not working, because this darn iPhone doesn’t allow my to adjust the shutter speed. It is such a fast shutter speed that it catches the displays while drawing the digits and makes them look broken. Trust me, to the human eye, they look and function perfectly. If anyone knows how to adjust the shutter speed on an iPhone 12 please message me. This is a pinball on which Bally pulled out all the stops. There are a ton of features and mechanics on the playfield, and all of them are working well on this pinball. There are two banks of inline drop targets that are self-dropping. These are very complex assemblies, and both are fully working (also have brand new targets installed). The inlanes / outlanes are brilliantly designed on this game because you can actually save the ball on EITHER, and you can also lose the ball on either. It requires practice and skill to learn how to keep the ball in play on these lanes. The rules on Fathom are quite deep and rich – which is unusual for games of this era which were typically very basic. This game also has awesome, iconic sound effects and voices. The game has new balls and lock. The quarter coin mechs work so you can use it as a piggy bank if you wish. And it is probably not necessary for me to mention how absolutely amazing and gorgeous the artwork is on this game – from the cabinet to the playfield to the best ever backglass artwork. This game is TRULY a work of art. Not that I would encourage such an attitude or behavior. If I had anything left to prove to my friends and family, I would keep this. But there is no need at this point. I remember playing fathom when I was a kid, and have very fond memories. My dad used to take me out to dinner and when we would go to a downtown Normal, IL restaurant called Subconcious (sub shop), they had one game – a Fathom pinball. He would let me play it, which was rare believe me. But it sure was not a waste – that game was fun. But actually it was a waste because I was not good at pinball and Fathom can be a VERY hard game for a beginner, so my games were over very quickly. Sorry for my long-winded description here…. I noticed when looking up information on Fathom that someone is working on a remake of Fathom, due out sometime in the future. Man, if that doesn’t tell you how great a game this is, I don’t know what will. The idea that people will pay over 11,000 for a copy of this game with no significant changes, when they could have this original shopped, fully working one for only 9,000. Here is a video I took showing that the game is fully working. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. This cosmetic condition of this Fathom is excellent. It is not perfect by any means, but without a doubt way above average. The playfield does have a few worn spots in the paint. But they are not very noticeable and don’t stand out at all. That is partly due to the complexity of the artwork, it actually kind of camouflages the worn spots. And other than those few small spots, the artwork is in great shape. The playfield plastics are all perfect as far as I can tell. I just didn’t want to wait a week for the new parts to come in before photoing and listing this. But the rest of the plastics appear to be perfect. I think I mentioned that the bumper caps and rings, the top lanes, and all the targets have been replaced with brand new ones. The backglass LOOKS perfect from the front. However, there is a small bit of paint lifting along the bottom edge of the glass if you remove the glass and look at it from the back side. I have taken a couple pictures to show this. But from the front it still looks perfect and shouldn’t get any worse if the game is taken care of. The cabinet is in very good, solid, condition with no water damage. The paint on the cabinet has been touched up with digitally color matched paints, and looks very good. The coin door is in excellent condition and has working coin mechs and an original coin box. If you need any more pictures or have any questions, please let me know – I’m happy to answer. PLAYFIELD PLASTICS: 9.5/10. STANDARD GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SOLID STATE PINBALL SHOPPING. When we shop a solid state pinball, here is what that includes. 1 Removed most everything from the playfield. 2 Clean, wax, and polish entire playing surface. 3 Replace all above-playfield light bulbs with new LED bulbs. 4 Replace all below-playfield light bulbs with new LED matching colored bulbs. 5 Replace all rubbers with new ones. 6 Re-install all above playfield plastics and hardware after thorough cleaning. 7 Remove backglass, replace all bulbs with LEDs. 8 Make sure all features of pinball are working properly. 9 Scrub, clean, and touch up cabinet to the best of our limited ability. 10 Install new lock on front door. 11 Install new ball(s). There are probably a few other things we do, but that’s the gist of it. This game is located in sunny, beautiful downtown McLean, IL 61754.
