Supersonic by Bally 1979 pinball machine based on the iconic Concorde jet airplane. Alltek Solenoid Driver Board. Game is completely gone through by Orange County Pinballs, a full service pinball shop. Game goes through a rigorous refurbishment process and service checklist by professional pinball technicians to make sure it is 100% fully operational and looks great! All electronic boards are inspected, serviced, repaired and any burnt connectors replaced. Fuses are checked and correct fuse values installed (safety issue to prevent damage to the game or a fire). Cabinet vacuumed, outside of cabinet cleaned and inspected for any issues. Playfield is stripped down and all plastics, ramps and mechanisms are cleaned and the playfield is polished. If the game has plastic ramps they are flame polished to restore clarity and appearance. Flippers are rebuilt with new plungers, links and coil stops to ensure the strongest possible flippers. All rubber rings are replaced and all new lightbulbs installed. All switches are checked, adjusted or replaced. All coils and mechanisms are checked, adjusted or replaced. New sheet of tempered playfield glass. Locks with keys for full access inside the machine.

New MPU board replaced a year ago. No key for coin door. Plays great but needs some work. Location: Bay Area, California. Kevin O’Connor did the new artwork for SUPERSONIC but the graphics on the playfield remained almost exactly the same. The backglass shows a SST (Super Sonic Transport) and hints at the Concord’s international flights between New York and Paris/London. Just look at those action packed sling shot plastics – a person reading a newspaper in a seat, a person holding a child against the window. The game uses the AS-2818-32 first generation electronic sound board. This sound board was an improvement over the 3-4 mechanical chimes prior. It has 32 tone commands (two of which are silence tones). String clear tones together to get tunes. String tones real fast and shape noises. Most of the sound effects are based on incrementing the +10, +100, and +1000 scores. But there are some tunes for power up, coin up, start game, saucer eject, tilt, and end game. The factory flyer says that the game contains “four new game theme tunes” never used before. One of these is “Off We Go into the Wild Blue Yonder” which is used as one of the coin tunes if selected. The game has 3 pop bumpers, 2 sling shots, 5 drop targets, 4 stationary targets, 1 spinner, 1 saucer, an out-lane ball gate, and no less than 11 roll over switches. The game play centers around gaining bonuses stored at the bottom in lights. Throw in a couple of chances to get 25K points, and you can really cash in.

I bought this and never really got around to messing with it. It turns on as you can see but I could never get it to coin up because the wiring to the coin door was cut. If you know how to fix these things, this is probably going to be an easy fix for you. The machine is in overall good condition physically with the normal scuffs and scrapes you would expect from a 45 year old machine. The legs are included as you can see them beside the machine in the pictures.

THE PLAYFIELD IS A REALLY NICE ORIGINAL AND WE MADE SURE IT LOOKED SPECTACULAR. WE TORE IT DOWN AND INSTALLED ALL NEW RUBBERS AND LIGHTS. LEDS WERE STRATEGICALLY INSTALLED AND THEY LOOK AWESOME. THE PLAYFIELD WAS ALREADY A REALLY NICE ORIGINAL AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD IT PARTIALLY RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL GLORY. LOOK AT ALL THE PICTURES OF THE PLAYFIELD TO SEE JUST HOW DARN GOOD THIS ONE LOOKS. THE CABINET IS A REALLY SOLID ORIGINAL AND LOOKS GREAT WITH BRIGHT AND VIBRANT REDS, YELLOWS AND BLUES. THE CABINET EXHIBITS MINOR WEAR FOR A GAME OF THIS AGE. TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE PICTURES TO SEE HOW VIBRANT THE ORIGINAL COLORS ACTUALLY ARE. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SPELLBOUND BY THE BACKGLASS AS IT SIMPLY A GORGEOUS WORK OF ART. THE GAME PLAY IS PURE CLASSIC BALLY WITH 5 DROP TARGETS, A KICKOUT HOLE, 3 POP BUMPERS, A BUNCH OF STAND UP TARGETS, AND A TON OF FUN. THE BACKGLASS IS A REALLY NICE ORIGINAL AND EXHIBITS MINOR WEAR FOR ITS AGE. THE DISPLAYS ARE ALL BRIGHT AND VIBRANT. WE INSTALLED A BRAND NEW ALTEK MASTER BOARD TO INSURE YEARS OF TROUBLE FREE GAME PLAY. THE PIN PLAYS AS IT SHOULD WITH NO ERRORS.
