We are so confident in our restorations that we back them up, unlike other fly-by-night sellers that like to put the words “AS-IS” on all of their auctions. The reason we can back up the games we sell is because we actually do the work that’s needed to make the game perform reliably for years to come. It requires a LOT of work and experience to make a 10, 20 or 30+ year old pinball machine reliable. An unrestored game usually results in EXPENSIVE repairs! Don’t fall for sellers that only show you a picture of the game sales FLYER and not a picture of the ACTUAL GAME they will send you! Pinball machines can NEVER be compared simply on price and as always… YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Due to my in-your-home restoration services, I have a proven track record of service and support in the Eastern Pennsylvania, Central/South Jersey and Northern Delaware areas. This game has been professionally inspected and serviced for reliability and enjoyment. I have many years of experience in pinball repair and restoration as a business, not just a hobby. Anyone can change a few rubbers and light bulbs on a game and call it “shopped”. A favorite 70’s Gottlieb wedge-head classic… This game was produced in 1977 by Gottlieb, creator of the most popular mechanical pinball machines on the planet! Centigrade 37 is considered to be one of the most desirable and collectable single-player “wedgehead” style machines ever created. Centigrade 37 is also one of the last few mechanical pinball machines built by Gottlieb. By 1977, Gottlieb and all other pinball manufacturers started switching over to digital technology, forever changing the sights, sounds and gameplay of pinball machines as we knew them. This game was incredibly popular when new due to the classic Gottlieb drop-target style gameplay along with the super cool backbox animation. This game was created when Gottlieb was the king of the arcades, bowling alleys and corner stores. No one could hold a candle to a Gottlieb mechanical pinball machine… They were simply the king of the hill! Centigrade 37 is one of Gottlieb’s greatest single player machines of all time and generally close to the top of any mechanical pinball machine collectors favorite game lists. Anyone that played pinball machines in the 70’s has usually seen and played Centigrade 37. It’s simply a timeless classic! You’ll love the old-fashioned chime box sounds that take you back to a simpler time in all of our lives. A time when pinball was the king of the arcade and boardwalk. A time before those confounded electronic video games came about! This game has many of the classic features that made Gottlieb great. Everyone’s favorite feature on this game is the mechanical backbox animation. It’s a thermometer that rises to the top as you complete different shots around the playfield. If you can make it to the top, the top hole is lit for the SPECIAL! Completing the A-B-C-D rollovers will increase the value of the targets and kickout hole. Completing the drop-targets will light the bullseye targets for extra features. The cool bagatelle-style rolldown lanes will alternately light for big points and advance of the thermometer. All of the classic elements such as pop-bumpers, rollovers, stationary targets and drop-targets give this playfield a classic playing and vintage feel that will keep you entertained and challenged for hours at a time. Most pinball enthusiasts agree that Gottlieb made the best playing single-level playfield designs and this game is one of the very best. The classic and family-friendly theme goes great in any home gameroom! It becomes more and more difficult to find nice examples of 70’s arcade games as time marches onward, particularly the more popular titles. Unfortunately, many games were left to rot in warehouses, sheds and barns. This game however is a great example of vintage arcade coolness! The playfield on this game is in fantastic condition and is not a reproduction field. The plastics are original Gottlieb, not chipped or broken and not reproductions. The playfield was disassembled, cleaned and polished with fresh white rubber installed. The screen-painted backglass is a very nice condition original with minimal flaking and is not a reproduction piece. The cabinet is in good condition with some touchups and fading in the pink color. The legs have been refinished with new levelers installed and the playfield glass has been replaced. See below for the full list of what has been done to this machine. This game plays beautifully, just like it did in 1977!
