This is a fully working, fully shopped Flying Carpet pinball game. We have fully shopped it and replaced all of the rubber bands with new ones. We have also replaced all of the light bulbs with new LEDs. We used a very tasteful choice of warm light bulbs on the playfield and backglass, with cool light on the backglass just behind the scores which I think makes the scores pop out and look great. This creates an older, classic yet vibrant look. Every single bulb, switch, coil, target, bell, etc is working great. The game has a new ball and locks. It does not have the quarter acceptance mechanisms, but is on free play. That said, the credit system is fully working on it and knocks on credits when you get a special or match, and counts them down when you start a game. It just can’t take quarters unless you put those quarter accepting parts back on the coin door. CONDITION and RATINGS for THIS SPECIFIC MACHINE. This cosmetic condition of this Flying Carpet pinball machine overall is excellent. It is not perfect, but quite good for something built over 50 years ago. The playfield has only the tiniest spots of wear on it in a few spots. Otherwise the paint is all intact and still as vibrant as the day it rolled off the line. There is planking on the playfield though, which is extremely common. The plastics seem perfect to me – I couldn’t find any flaws. The cabinet is in outstanding condition – no sign of water or other physical damage. The paint is all original and in excellent condition. The backglass looks really great and is in good condition. Gorgeous, vibrant artwork with some flaws. The title section “Flying Carpet” paint and some portions of the clothing on one of the people is starting to flake a bit. You will notice that it is just one specific color that has started to flake. This is common – each color of paint they used on these old silkscreens had different chemistry, and usually there will be one or more colors that didn’t adhere to the glass as well as the other colors.
