The good: The machine boots and runs. Mechanically you can play a game. A new Alltek MPU board is installed. I have rebuilt most of the headers and connectors in the game but not all. I have rebuilt the power and driver boards. Recommended ground mods have been performed. New rubber rings are installed. The bad: The sound comes and goes as it pleases. Currently I’m not getting any sounds. The lamps also come and go as they please, like there is a loose wire somewhere. The maze doesn’t seem to act quite right when the lamps are working. Repair of the sound board and lamp driver boards is highly likely. The only work I have done to those boards is reflowing headers and replacing the. The displays all work but have some issues when the flippers are hit. Assume you will need to repair the display circuit boards or flippers. Cosmetically this is a players pinball. The backglass is flaking. I attempted to seal the backglass but it is still flaking. The backglass lamp starter has been pulled – I believe the bulb is bad. I think this machine would make a great player machine for someone who has the desire to work on it. This was my first Bally machine and I learned that I do not like working on Bally machines, which is why I never finished it.
