THIS IS A GAME THAT PRIOR TO COMING TO US WAS RESTORED MECHANICALLY. IT LOOKS AMAZING AND PLAYS EVEN BETTER. THE FOLLOWING WAS DONE TO THIS PIN: ALL BOARDS WERE INSTALLED TO HELP PREVENT TROUBLE FREE GAME PLAY, ALL NEW DROP TARGETS WERE INSTALLED, ALL NEW POP BUMPER ASSEMBLIES, ALL FLIPPERS WERE REBUILT TO SHOOT STRONG, ALL NEW RUBBERS AND LED LIGHTS WERE INSTALLED AND A NEW BACK GLASS WAS INSTALLED ON THE PIN. THE LEDS LOOK ABSOULUTELY FANTASTIC AND MAN DO THEY BRING OUT THE COLORS IN THE PLAYFIELD. THE PLAYFIELD IS A REALLY SOLID EXAMPLE, AND EXHIBITS MINOR WEAR FOR A 45 YEAR OLD PIN. TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE PLAYFIELD PICTURES TO SEE HOW AWESOME THE PIN LOOKS WITH THE LED LIGHTS INSTALLED. THESE PLAYFIELDS ARE USUALLY TOTALLY SHOT DUE TO THE POPULARITY OF THIS GAME, BUT NOT THIS EXAMPLE. THE ART AND THE COLORS ON THE PLAYFIELD ARE AWESOME THE CABINET EXHIBITS MINOR NICKS AND SCRATCHES FOR A PIN OF THIS AGE AND NICE VIBRANT COLORS. WE REPLACED THE BACKGLASS WITH A BRAND NEW ONE AND IT LOOKS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. THE BACKGLASS ART REALLY COMPLEMENTS THE PLAYFIELD ART NICELY. THIS GAME IS A TRUE CLASSIC WITH 3 POP BUMPERS, 4 FLIPPERS, 14 CLASSIC DROP TARGETS AND 5 STANDUP TARGETS. THE GAME PLAYS AS IT SHOULD WITH NO ERRORS. Baseball machines like LINE DRIVE were once a summertime staple in every arcade, especially on the east and west coasts, but they’ve become nearly extinct in the last 45 years. LINE DRIVE was one of the last EM (electromechanical) baseball games produced, and it included the popular “base running men” in the backbox. This backbox animation makes the game almost as much fun to watch as it is to play. This game is in very good condition overall. All of the parts on the machine are original, down to the manual and schematic which are included with the game – there are no reproduction parts here. The backglass is in very good condition, although the red paint has flaked off a bit, as it has on many of these games. New reproduction backglasses are available from several sources. The playfield is in good condition overall. There’s a bit of wear around the batting area, although again, that’s a result of nearly a half century of normal use. The game uses a solid state sound system which includes cheers, clapping, and even boos, and the sound system operates as it should. The cabinet is in very good condition especially for its age, with a few scuffs on both sides of the cabinet but no graffiti or gouges. All locks and keys are present. Manual and schematic are included. A couple of trivia facts. This is the same LINE DRIVE machine that is pictured on the cover of the 1990 book Slot Machines & Coin-Op Games. This is fun pitch & bat game. These games are getting harder and harder to find. This one is in the process of restoration. Last electromechanical baseball game by Williams. Pitching magnet to allow different types of pitches. Adjustable bat strength dial inside coin door. 3 different electronic sound boards for fun, continuous excitement. Animated backglass with players running around the bases. The outside cabinet artwork has been repaired and touched up/repainted as needed. Playfield has been cleaned and polished. Metal pitch and bat buttons have been removed and polished. The paddles in the outfield that the ball hits for scoring have new artwork on them. The side rails and coin door were cleaned and polished. The legs have been cleaned and polished. New leg adjusters and leg bolts have been added. New fluorescent bulb is installed. Back side of backglass red color has been airbrushed back in. New power cord has been installed for safety. LED lights have been installed. Game plays faster than most and works 100%.
