THIS IS THE CLASSIC PINBALL MACHINES MADE FAMOUS BY THE MOVIE TOMMY, AS ELTON JOHN IS SEEN PLAYING IT IN THE FILM. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER PINS FROM THE 60’S DUE TO ITS INCREDIBLE GAME PLAY, GREAT CARD POKER THEME AND POPULARITY FROM TOMMY. THIS GAME WAS TORN DOWN BY OUR INCREDIBLE TEAM OF TECHS, THE PLAYFIELD WAS CLEANED AND WAXED AND NEW BULBS AND RUBBERS WERE INSTALLED. THE PLAYFIELD IS A VERY NICE EXAMPLE, DISPLAYS VIBRANT ORIGINAL COLORS AND DOES NOT SHOW THE NORMAL WEAR ONE WOULD EXPECT FROM A 52 YEAR OLD PIN. IN MY OPINION, THIS IS A VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF AN ORIGINAL PLAYFIELD. TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES AND HOW VIBRANT THE GREENS, BLUES, REDS AND YELLOW ARE. THE GAME SHOWS THE NORMAL WEAR AROUND THE 4 KICKOUT HOLES, BUT OVERALL SHOWS MINOR WEAR FOR A 56 YEAR OLD PIN. THESE PLAYFIELDS OFTEN EXHIBIT A TON OF WEAR, AND THIS ONE LOOKS GREAT WITH THE NEW LIGHTS AND RUBBERS INSTALLED. THE CABINET SHOWS GOOD ORIGINAL BLUE AND RED COLORS AND THE NORMAL NICKS AND SCRATCHES ONE WOULD EXPECT FROM A PIN OF THIS AGE. PROFESSIONAL TECHS WORKED ON THIS GAME AND IT PLAYS GREAT WITH NO ERRORS. THE GAME PLAY IS VERY CHALLENGING AS YOU ATTEMPT TO ACQUIRE ALL 4 JACKS, KINGS, QUEENS AND ACES. THE BACKGLASS IS A NICE EXAMPLE AND SHOWS MINOR WEAR FOR A GLASS OF THIS AGE WITH VIBRANT ORIGINAL COLORS. TAKE A LOOK AT HOW NICE THE COLORS LOOK IN THE BACKGLASS. I HAVE SEEN A TON OF THESE COME THROUGH OUR SHOP AND THIS BY FAR ONE OF THE NICER ORIGINALS. THE ICONIC BACKGLASS LOOKS AMAZING AND IS AS CLOSE TO PERFECTION AS YOU CAN GET. THIS DOES HAVE THE HARD TO FIND VERSION OF THE BACKGLASS THAT DOES NOT BLACKOUT THE GIRL WITH STARS. THE CABINET COLORS ARE OFTEN FADED BUT THIS ONE SHOWS STRONG RED AND BLUES WITH NORMAL NICKS AND SCRATCHES. THESE GAMES WERE PLAYED SO MUCH THAT THE PLAYFIELD BLUES ARE OFTEN WORN AWAY. Captain Fantastic pinball machine. First off, i have been repairing pinball machines for 30 years. I did a lot of work on this game and it is in excellent working condition. The game plays beautifully. There are a few cosmetic issues with it for its age, but still looks beautiful. I have removed everything from the playfield, cleaned and waxed several times. The backglass is beautiful Playfield plastics are very nice. No chips, cracks or broken pieces. A new ball New rubber Any burned out lamps replaced. (1) Vintage Bally Captain Fantastic Elton John Pinball Arcade Machine. Based on the 1975 British operetta fantasy drama film / movie “Tommy” with The Who & Elton John. Condition is preowned and working properly. Playfield is in excellent condition – please view all pics and send any questions. Playfield has slight wear around some inserts, but overall above average. Backglass is in amazing condition! Original and has been sealed with Triple Thick to preserve the art. Field has been fully waxed. All topside bulbs have been replaced w/ 44 incandescent – nice and bright! Scoring reels have been cleaned. Cabinet and back box are solid. Cab and box have a few paint chips and scratches, but not badly faded like most Captain Fantastics. Overall this is a solid above average example of this title – in extremely good condition.
